Vancouver Life Coach

Many years ago, someone came to me with a specific problem he was facing. We worked on it for several months. Eventually, it was resolved. But he said he wanted to book another six months. I asked him why.

He said… "I think I think better with you."

For more than two decades I've worked with people in Vancouver, across British Columbia, and throughout Canada. While many of my clients are local, most conversations are on the phone or by Zoom.

This is one-to-one work for people who need a place to think beyond the expectations, obligations, and histories that shape their everyday lives.

I've come to believe that we all need at least one place where we don't have to perform, persuade, protect, or pretend.

Why people come to a life coach.

The reasons people first get in touch are all different.

A business. A marriage. A career. A diagnosis. Retirement. A decision that has been circling for months.

My work is for people moving through a challenging moment. It gives them one place where they can think out loud without having to protect someone else's feelings, defend a position, or arrive at an answer before they're ready.

Most of us do our thinking inside relationships that already have history.

A spouse hears us through the history of a marriage.

A business partner hears us through the needs of the business.

Friends want what's best for us, but they also have opinions, hopes, and fears of their own.

It's hard to think freely when everyone around you has a stake in the outcome.

That's why this work is different. My role isn't to tell you what to do or give you endless advice.

It's to create a conversation where you can hear your own thinking more clearly than you can anywhere else.

How we work

Although I'm based in Vancouver, I work with people across British Columbia and throughout Canada. Most conversations happen by phone, with Zoom available if you prefer.

Over the years I've found that many people think more freely on the phone. Without a screen, there's less to manage and fewer distractions. The conversation becomes the only thing that matters.

The first conversation is complimentary. It's a chance for us to meet, explore what's bringing you here, and see whether this feels like the right place to solce the problem that brouhgt you here. The first conversation is free.

David was my first entry into the realm of coaching, and while I was already convinced after our first consultation - his unique ability to be unwavering throughout the process, while I underwent a variety of changes, has quickly become an incredible anchor point in my own journey. He’s been a wise and gentle guide on the path to self discovery.

David Gomes has been a tremendous coach. I have grown a lot during this fantastic journey with him. When I was confused, he inspired me, when I was depressed, he supported me, when I was exploring, he walked with me.
My appreciations to David, for teaching me to be patient, for shining a light on my darkest road, for coaching me to reveal my true self. Plus, his words echo, this will always remind me about what I have learned on my path going forward.

I came to David in a good place, and looking for more. Together we worked on some great self discovery. I came out the other end with a completely opened awareness on what I wanted from life and how to get there. When we started, I didn’t know what it was I needed to take my life to the next level. It was working with David that allowed me to discover that. It’s been life changing. I can’t say thank you enough.
